Europe Allocates 160 million Euros For Palestine

The European Commission announced on Monday that it has allocated a new aid to Palestine worth 160.4 million euros for 2012.

The Commission said in a statement quoted by the Commissioner of the European Union expansion and the European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan fuel to the announcement of the package, as "a sign of our commitment to strong political and financial to build a democratic Palestinian state and a viable addition to contributing to the welfare of Palestinian refugees."

The Commission said that two thirds of the value will go to the Palestinian Authority to pay salaries for civil servants, especially the key medical, educational, and payment of social allowances to poor families.
